Deaconess: “In the same way, the women must be dignified not slanderers, but temperate and faithful in all things. (1 Timothy 3:11)
They also serve with a clear conscience; visiting the sick and shut-in, encouraging new comers to the Church and the community and providing the spiritual service and guidance to those of the same sex helping to lead them towards maturity in the faith. This ministry is asked to provide instruction about church etiquette to: single women, wives and children, assisting female candidates at the time of baptism and in the preparing of the table for Holy Communion. It is important that they also assist their own husbands or another Deacon in home and hospital visitations when visiting the sick or serving communion.
